Our Work in the UK

Children and families need us more then ever

Listening to our community

It is a fact that 1 in 3 children in the UK are living in poverty, this maybe where parents are unable to work due to illness, single parents, or parents that both work but are still unable to ‘make ends meet’. We listen to these families with no judgement and provide help where necessary. Below are just a few of the ways we help the families on our project to have a sense of worth and community.

New Community Hub

Our foundation is based in Chelmsford, Essex where we serve the local community. We have just signed a lease to a local building so we can be in the heart of our project and more available for our families, we are able to run more projects from this hub for both the children and parents including cookery classes, debt counselling kids club and a youth club.

Food Distribution

Every month, food is purchased, sorted and distributed to the our most vulnerable local families. These are crucial supplies that are not regularly  obtained from the food banks but are necessary for the health and wellbeing of these children and families. At a time where families are living below the poverty line, this helps them not have to make the decision to eat or pay bills.

Community Coffee Morning

Once a month we set up a local coffee morning for the parents and younger children on our project. This gives us a chance to meet them all face to face to talk. Its a great opportunity for the families to meet and socialise, there is a selection of free food and clothes available and activities for the children and of course, tea and cake for all.

Summer Scheme

Each year a summer school is organised for 5 days in the school holidays. which thanks to local sponsors is entirely free of charge to attend and provides a full week of activities for local children aged between 4 and 12. It offers the perfect opportunity for them to make new friends and have fun during the school holidays. Activities include arts and crafts, sports sessions, and animal petting, plus, all transport and food is provided for free.
