VOLUNTEER

Our Charity could not exist without our team of dedicated and hard working volunteers.

volunteer with us

There are various volunteer roles within the charity for all ages. These start from wrapping and filling shoeboxes, delivering fruit and vegetables to the local community to travelling abroad to Moldova and distributing aid and educational items. There are weekly clubs and events for all to get involved in. Take a look at just some of the many ways to which to get involved below and get in touch if you would like to participate.

Wrap and Chat

Once a fortnight, the office opens its doors to volunteers to assist in preparing the shoeboxes for our annual Christmas Shoebox Project. This club has become a social hub where a variety of people from the area enjoy offering practical help and meeting new people.

All you need to bring is a pair of scissors and if possible some tape, you will be met with a cup of tea/coffee, a biscuit and a mixture of volunteers of all ages. The object is to wrap in wrapping paper as many of the 1800 shoeboxes that are sent ut and hand delivered in to the most vulnerable children and families in Moldova.

THE THURSDAY CLUB

The Thursday Club runs on a weekly basis where a group of 13-16 year old local boys assist in the running of our warehouse, organising the supplies and donations that we send to deprived rural communities in Moldova.

This group is usually a mix of students who were selected for the UK Youth Development Project and wanted to continue volunteering with the organisation on returning back to the UK, and others who are enrolled on the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. Its a great way to learn new skills, be responsible and socialise with children

Feeding the community

As part of our Covid-19 Emergency Response Project and for the foreseeable future, LEF has been supplying fresh fruit and vegetables to the most vulnerable families in our local community in Chelmsford, Essex. We need volunteer drivers to help deliver these items and volunteers to distribute to the homes. This has been a new labour of love for our charity, a chance to get to know and help some very special families, children that we hope to continue helping to make sure they receive what they need and deserve to have the best chance in life.

If you would like to volunteer or if you know a family that needs support from us, please use the contact form below and we will get back to you.
