As you know, here at LEF  we believe all children should have equal access to education and learning development, enabling them to reach their full potential.

One of these development opportunities is our summer scheme which thanks to local sponsors is entirely free of charge to attend and provides a full week of activities for local children aged between 4 and 12. It offers the perfect opportunity for them to make new friends and have fun during the school holidays. Activities included arts and crafts, sports sessions, and animal petting, plus, all transport and food was provided.

Plenty of willing volunteers and young helpers, many of whom had been involved in the scheme themselves in previous summers, helped the week run without a hitch!

A very large donation from  our amazing sponsor Direct Commercial Ltd was put towards the event and this year also sponsored the prize for the ‘Guess the weight of the pony’ competition, with the winning guess being awarded 4 tickets to this year’s Olympia Horse Show in December, for which we will be eternally grateful for.

Their  CEO, Phil Cunningham, has spoken previously of his passion for the charity stating, “They’re all local volunteers looking out for families that need help and they’ve made such a difference in the Chelmsford area and beyond.”
