What We are Doing
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the UK, The Little Edi Foundation has worked quickly and tirelessly to respond to the needs of our communities across Essex. We are offering vital support to those most at risk and vulnerable to the virus and its impacts. As children and young people are at the heart of our organisation, we are focussing our response efforts to protect the safety and well-being of disadvantaged and at risk children.
COVID-19 Community Relief Programme
We have rapidly adapted The Little Edi Foundation’s activities to prioritise community needs by setting up a COVID-19 Community Relief Programme. Thanks to the invaluable support of our network of volunteers and partnerships with schools, community groups, churches and local businesses we have been able to coordinate a COVID-19 response across towns in Essex. We are…
- Supplying and distributing food parcels, hygiene packs, school supplies and activity books to vulnerable children and their families.
- Supporting our local food banks by donatingfood, hygiene packs and clothing.
- Shopping for essential items and medication for those who are unable to or have difficulty leaving their homes.
- A one-stop-shop for parents and carers in need of guidance and reassurance.
Food Distribution
Every week, fresh fruit AND vegetables are purchased, sorted and distributed to the our most vulnerable local families. These are crucial supplies that cannot be obtained from the food banks but are necessary for the health and wellbeing of these children and families.
We regularly receive letters of thanks like the one below, from these families who are so grateful…….
“Hey, sorry for not getting in touch sooner, I literally can not thank you enough when that first box of things arrived, it was do beautiful and my kids faces were so so excited., like I actually do not have the words to tell you what that meant to me. And thanks again for this next package, I’m speechless, it honestly means so much. Thank you”
